Kesar Pista Phirni Recipe is a delicious creamy dessert made with rice, milk, sugar and flavoured with cardamom, saffron. The addition of chopped almonds and pista make this a lip smacking dessert perfect for parties. The Kesar Pista Phirni is a traditional dessert made during festivals like Ramadan. Basmati rice is ground into a coarse paste and then cooked in milk along with cardamom and saffron which adds to the delicious flavour and taste.

Ingredients for Kesar Pista Phirni Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 tablespoon Milk to grind
  • 700 milliliter Milk to cook rice
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • As required Saffron strands A few
  • 2 tablespoon Almonds
  • 2 tablespoon Pistachios

Directions: Kesar Pista Phirni Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak ¼ cup basmati rice for 1 hour.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Add ¼ cup soaked basmati rice into a food processor and add 2 tbsp milk. Pulse to make a coarse grainy paste.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Pour 700ml milk into a saucepan over medium heat. Add a few strands of saffron, ¾ cup sugar and 1 tsp cardamom powder.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Add the ground rice paste and keep stirring till the rice thickens and cooks. Stir continuously.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Add 2 tbsp chopped almonds and 2tbsp chopped pistachios. Mix well. Turn off the heat. Garnish with chopped nuts and saffron.
