  • 1 Cups Onion
  • 1/2 Tbsp thinly sliced and cut into
  • 1 Tbsp Green chilies
  • 1 Tbsp Finely chopped
  • 1/2 Tbsp Ginger
  • 1/2 Tbsp Finely chopped
  • As Required Curry leaves
  • As Required Finely chopped
  • as required Salt
  • 1 cup 2. All purpose flour –
  • 2.50 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 0.13 tsp Rice flour
  • 1/2 pinches 3. Baking
  • 0.13 tsp Hing / asafoetida / kaya podi
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 0.13 tsp Chilli powder
  • 0.38 cup Crushed fennel seeds
  • to taste 4. Water – 1/2 – 3/4 cup
  • 3 Tbsp 5. Salt –

Directions: Kerala Special Ulli Vada Recipe

  • STEP 1.Combine onion with green chilies, ginger, curry leaves and salt. Crush well with your fingers (njeruduka).
  • STEP 2.2. Add all purpose flour, rice flour and all the other ingredients numbered 3. Mix well.
  • STEP 3.3. Add water little by little and mix well until you get a very thick batter. Set aside for 15 minutes.
