Ingredients for Kathal/Jackfruit Curry Recipe

  • 250 gram Kathal
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 3 No.s Onions
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 No.s Green chilly
  • 10-12 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Ginger
  • 7-8 tablespoon Mustard oil
  • 1 No.s Bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon Kitchen king
  • As required Salt

  • STEP 1.Cut kathal into small pieces

  • STEP 2.Sprinkle salt onto the cut pieces and keep it for 10 mins.

  • STEP 3.Prepare a paste of finely chopped onions,tomato, chilli,garlic and ginger

  • STEP 4.After 10 mins wash kathal with water to remove excess salt.

  • STEP 5.Now squeeze kathal to remove excess water.

      • STEP 6.1.heat oil in a pan

      • STEP 7.2. Now add kathal and fry it on low-medium flame.

      • STEP 8.3.stir it on intervals to avoid sticking into the pan.

      • STEP 9.4.fry it until it becomes golden brown.

      • STEP 10.5.once again,take a pan,add 3-4 tbsp oil,heat it.

      • STEP 11.6.add bay leaf.

      • STEP 12.7.then add roughly chopped onion,saute it.

      • STEP 13.8.now add the prepared paste and mix well

      • STEP 14.9.add salt as per taste,and mix it thoroughly.

      • STEP 15.10.cover it for 2-3 mins.

      • STEP 16.11.now add the masala-coriander powder, kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder,cumin powder,kitchen king masala,salt.

      • STEP 17.12.add little water and cook it for 2-3 mins.

      • STEP 18.13.now add fried kathal onto it and mix well.

      • STEP 19.14now add water as per gravy choice.

      • STEP 20.15.now cover it for 4-5 mins and cook it on low flame.

      step 23

      • STEP 21.16.turn off the gas and then add garam masala and crushed kasuri methi,cover it for 2 mins and serve hot.
