  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the lentils with water, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chilies.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions, tomatoes, and vegetables of your choice.
  • STEP 5.Add sambar powder, tamarind pulp, and cooked lentils.
  • STEP 6.Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are cooked.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or idli.
