South Indian cuisine includes the cuisine of the five Southern States - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Telangana. There are typically vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes for all five states. Some of common vegetarian South Indian delicacies such as Dosa, idli, uttapam,sambar, rasam, upma, appe, appam, curd rice, lemon rice, pongal, bisi bele bhaat/huliaana, payasam are popular and favourite amongst rest of Indian states too. Jini dosa is one type of dosa which is popular in Mumbai. Basically jini dosa is mini dosa rolls stuffed with some veggies and sauces, loaded with cheese. It is said that this buttery, cheesy and scrumptious Jini dosa is originated from Ghatkopar area in Mumbai, where Gujarati population is more. Jini means small in Gujarati, hence this small rolls of dosa got name, Jini Dosa.

Ingredients for Jini Dosa Recipe

  • 1/4 nos kg. Dosa batter
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 50 grams Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup schezwan sauce
  • 0.13 nos Finely chopped coriander
  • 0.13 cup finely chopped onions
  • 0.13 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1/4 tbsp pavbhaji masala

Directions: Jini Dosa Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. Heat dosa skillet properly. Grease it with oil and sprinkle some water and wipe it with cloth. So if skillet is over heated, it cools down. Spread laddleful of dosa batter.

  • STEP 2.2. Now add some butter, mayonnaise, tomato sauce, schezwan sauce, coriander, capsicum, onion, pav bhaji masala , mix and spread it evenly.

  • STEP 3.3. Further generously grate cheese over it and let it melt. While cheese is melting, our dosa also near to cook. Further cut dosa into strips with pizza cutter and roll it.

  • STEP 4.4. Top this dosa with lots of grated cheese. Enjoy this restaurant like scrumptious and hot jini dosa at home.

  • STEP 5.Note: You can you choice of veggies like sweet corn, cabbage, beet, carrot etc. Adjust quantity of sauces as per your taste.
