Ingredients for Jalebi Recipe

  • 0.33 cup All purpose flour
  • 0.83 cups Sugar +
  • 0.17 tsp Yeast
  • 0.17 tsp turmeric powder
  • 0.33 cup Water
  • 0-0.33 nos Cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp Ghee -

Directions: Jalebi Recipe

  • STEP 1.TAKE LUKEWARM WATER IN A BOWL AND ADD SUGAR TO IT. STIRR WELL AND ADD INSTANT YEAST AND LET IT SIT.
  • STEP 2.AFTER 10 - 15 MINS, THE YEAST WILL BE ACTIVATED
  • STEP 3.NOW TAKE 1 CUP FLOUR IN A BOWL
  • STEP 4.ADD TURMERIC POWDER FOR COLOUR (SYNTHETIC FOOD COLORS CAN ALSO BE USED)
  • STEP 5.NOW ADD 1 TSP GHEE TO IT
  • STEP 6.MIX THEM WELL BY ADDING THE ACTIVATED YEAST MIXTURE
  • STEP 7.ADD WATER GRADUALLY AND START STIRRING IT WELL WITHOUT LUMPS
  • STEP 8.MIX UNTIL SMOOTH BATTER FORMS.
  • STEP 9.LET THIS BATTER SIT FOR ABOUT 10 - 15 MINS (NOT ABOVE THE MENTIONED TIME)
  • STEP 10.NOW ADD WATER INTO A PAN FOR MAKING SYRUP
  • STEP 11.ADD SUGAR TO IT
  • STEP 12.STIRR IT SO THAT SUGAR GETS DISSOLVED, THEN ADD SOME CARDAMOM PODS
  • STEP 13.STIRR WELL AND LET THE SYRUP BOIL
  • STEP 14.Once it reaches single thread consistency, switch off the flame and add lemin juice
  • STEP 15.In a pan slightly heat the oil (u can also add ghee if you want) and start making jalebis. I have used plastic bottle by putting hole in its cap.
  • STEP 16.Fry till the bubbles cease down. Then suddenly transfer them into the still warm sugar syrup
