Directions: Instant Pot Vegetarian Dalcha Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Rinse the lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Turn on the Instant Pot and select the sauté mode. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and sauté until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and cook until tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 5.Drain the soaked lentils and add them to the Instant Pot along with chopped vegetables, salt, and water.
  • STEP 6.Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the pressure cook mode for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Once the cooking is done, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then manually release the remaining pressure.
  • STEP 8.Open the lid and garnish the dalcha with coriander leaves.
  • STEP 9.Serve hot with rice or roti.
