Amlana is the all time Marwadis favourite drink durig summer. As this is not only a tasty drink but this is so healthy. This sweet and sour amlana is very good for digestion. Tamarind gives coolant to the body and spices helps in digestion.

Ingredients for Imlana/ Amlana Recipe

  • 0.13 cup tamarind pulp
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 0.13 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 0.13 tsp red chili powder
  • 0.13 tsp black salt
  • As required ice cubes
  • 0.06 cup boondi
  • As required mint leaves for garish

Directions: Imlana/ Amlana Recipe

  • STEP 1.For making Amlana/ Imlana We will take tamarind pulp. Tamarind pulp can be fresh homemade or it can be store bought. for making tamarind pulp soak the tamarind in warm water and after 10 minutes mash the tamarind in the water and strain that pulp.

  • STEP 2.Now add sugar in the pulp. If you like you can add other options of sweetner.

  • STEP 3.Add water in it, Add other spices such as black salt, red chili powder, roasted cumin seeds. Some people like to have dry mint powder also to give nice aroma.

  • STEP 4.Add ice to the Amlana and tatste the Amlana before serving. Adjust the spices, salt and sugar at this point.

  • STEP 5.Add boondi before serving. You can add masala boondi as well. This gives a crisp to the drink and give little fancy look to it.
