STEP 1.Heat a pan and roast the rice flour in medium flame for 8-10 mins.
STEP 2.Cut the banana leaf into rectangular shape with approx 25 x 15 cm dimension
Cooking Directions
STEP 1.Take grated coconut in a bowl. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix it well and keep it aside.
STEP 2.Take the roasted rice flour in another bowl. Add a pinch of salt and gradually add boiling hot water to the flour and mix it well.
STEP 3.Take the banana leaf and gently paste the dough to the leaf and spread it to create a layer of 0.25cm thickness.
STEP 4. Put the mixture of coconut and sugar on half of the rectangular/circular layer and fold the leaf from between.
STEP 5.Boil water in a steamer and gently place the ilayada into the steamer. Wait for 10-15 mins.
STEP 6.Ilayada is ready to be served.
