Ingredients for Idli & red chatni Recipe

  • 1/4 Cup Urad Dal
  • 1/2 Cups Idli Rava
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • As Required For Ganishing Oil to grease
  • 1/2 Cup coconut
  • 1 Pieces spring coriander
  • 1.50 Pieces Mint leaves
  • 1/2 g reen chilies
  • 1/2 g arlic cloves
  • 1/4 Inch Ginger slice
  • 0.13 Cup water
  • 0.06 Tsp Salt

Directions: Idli & Red Chatni Recipe

  • STEP 1.firstly, in a large bowl soak 1 cup urad dal for 4 hours.
  • STEP 2.drain off the water and transfer to blender or grinder.
  • STEP 3.blend to smooth and fluffy batter adding water as required.
  • STEP 4.transfer the batter to a large bowl. keep aside.
  • STEP 5.now in another bowl take 2 cup idli rava.
  • STEP 6.rinse the idli rava with enough water and drain off the water.
  • STEP 7.repeat this for 2 or 3 times or till water runs clean.
  • STEP 8.squeeze off water from idli rava and add to urad dal batter.
  • STEP 9.mix well making sure rava and urad dal are combined well.
  • STEP 10.now cover and rest in warm place for 8-10 hours or till the batter ferments and doubles.
  • STEP 11.after 8 hours, batter doubles indicating well fermented with air pockets present.
  • STEP 12.add 1 tsp salt to the batter and mix gently without disturbing the air pockets.
  • STEP 13.scoop the batter into idli plate greased with oil.
  • STEP 14.place in steamer and steam for 10 minutes on medium flame or till a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • STEP 15.finally, soft idli recipe are ready.
  • STEP 16.Add all the ingredients mentioned above to your mixer jar and blend it to a smooth paste. Transfer this to a bowl and add the tempering.
  • STEP 17.Serve with idli, enjoy.
  • STEP 18.I colored the idli using beet juice and purple cabbage juice. And I made idli shape using heart cookie cutter.
