Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Cook the string hoppers (idiyappam) according to the package instructions.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add onions and saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and spices. Cook for a minute.
  • STEP 5.Add tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  • STEP 6.Add vegetables, biryani masala, and salt. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  • STEP 7.Grease a steamer tray and layer the cooked string hoppers and biryani masala.
  • STEP 8.Steam for 15-20 minutes until the flavors are well infused.
  • STEP 9.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with raita or a side salad.
