Directions: Hyderabad Kofta Curry Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine minced meat, onions, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, coriander leaves, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and breadcrumbs. Mix well and shape into small balls.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the koftas until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  • STEP 3.In the same pan, add chopped onions and cook until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  • STEP 5.Add water and bring the gravy to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Gently add the fried koftas to the gravy and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.

Cooking Tips

  • To make the koftas more flavorful, you can add a pinch of nutmeg powder or cardamom powder to the meat mixture.
  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying the koftas to ensure they cook evenly and become crispy.
  • If the gravy is too thick, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency.
