Homemade Natural Hazelnut Butter Recipe

Recipe By Tarla Dalal

A buttery spread made of hazelnuts, this homemade natural hazelnut butter is bursting with goodness and burgeoning with flavour From young to old, nobody can resist dabbing some on their toast, or spreading some on their rotis or loaves. The nutty and natural flavour of this butter surely adds to the taste of any dish it is relished with. Hazelnuts have a good amount of vitamin e and b-vitamins, including folate. Vitamin e is important for maintaining healthy skin, hair and nails, while the b-vitamins help in proper cell and energy metabolism. Hazelnuts are also a rich source of potassium, calcium and magnesium. They are loaded with fibre and contain a large amount of monounsaturated fatty acids, which help to reduce ldl (bad) cholesterol while boosting hdl (good) cholesterol. This tasty nut, and therefore this butter too, is good for your heart, helps reduce the risk of cancer and aids in muscle, skin, bone, joint and digestive health. So, now, lets get down to making this yummy hazelnut butter. It is important to blend this butter well. Remember to blend the baked nuts while they are still warm. If they cool completely, it will be very difficult to blend. You can enjoy this mouth-watering butter on slices of healthy bread to make an effective breakfast or snack. It stays good for 7 days at room temperature and for a month if refrigerated. Also do try these recipes homemade almond butter or homemade peanut butter.
