Cheesecake first finds it’s mention in ancient Greek where it was made with fresh cheese that was pounded to a smooth texture with some flour and honey and then to be cooked on an earthenware griddle. Later the cheesecake evolved to the European style to what we see today. It was only during the later medieval ages in Europe that cheesecake started to see a hard tart kinda base. Also the fact that adding of the cream cheese was a much of a American version.
