  • 1/4 cup Green Peas, Cooked
  • 1/4 inch Ginger, Chopped
  • 1/2 Green Chilies
  • 1/2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves, Chopped
  • 1/4 cup Gram Flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon Rice Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • pinch A Pinch Of Asafoetida

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a blender, grind green peas, ginger, green chili, and coriander leaves into a coarse paste.
  • STEP 2.Transfer the paste to a mixing bowl and add gram flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, salt, and asafoetida. Mix well.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small patties.
  • STEP 4.Carefully drop the patties into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 5.Remove the vadas from the oil and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the green peas are cooked and cooled before grinding them.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less green chilies.
  • For extra crunch, you can add a handful of chopped onions to the vada mixture.
