#Street Surti locho is the popular street food of the city Surat, in Gujarat. It is a healthy and steamed snack served with spicy locho chutney and masala. In this recipe, I share regular green garlic flavored cheese garlic surti locho. This flavored are super tasty and easy to make without any complex ingredients required. These healthy and light dishes serve as breakfast, snacks, or as a light dinner. So with a few basic ingredients try out tasty and street style surti locho at home

Ingredients for Green Garlic Chess Locho Recipe

  • 0.40 cup Chanadal
  • 0.80 tbsp poha
  • 0.40 tbsp Urad Dal
  • 1/5 cup Sour curd
  • 0.40 tbsp Green chilli pest
  • 1/5 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1/20 tbsp Turmeric
  • A Pinch Hing pinch
  • to taste Salt
  • 0.40 tbsp Oil
  • as required water
  • 1/20 Tbsp Backing soda (
  • 1/5 cup Coriander leaves
  • 1/20 cup Mint leaves
  • 0.40 Pieces Green chilli nos
  • 1/20 inch Ginger
  • 1/5 tbsp jeera
  • 1/5 tbsp Suger
  • 1/5 tbsp Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • 0.40 Pieces Khaman
  • as required water
  • 1/5 tbsp papper powder
  • 1/5 tbsp Roasted cumin seeds
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/5 tbsp Chaat masala
  • 1/5 tbsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/5 Cups Green Garlic( dry garlic)
  • 0.40 g reen chilli piece
  • 1/20 cups Coriander
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 0.60 Pieces Cheese piece
  • As Required Locho masala
  • 1/10 Cups Chopped onion
  • 1/5 Cup Sev
  • 1/5 cup Green chatani

Directions: Green Garlic Chess Locho Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the chana dal, urad dal, and methi seeds for 5-6 hrs.
  • STEP 2.Remove water and in a mixture jar, add dals, soaked poha, curd, and some water, and grind batter into a smooth and thick paste. Do not add more water while grinding the batter.
  • STEP 3.Cover and keep it in a warm place for 5-6 hours to ferment.
  • STEP 4.When the batter is properly fermented, add green chili paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, hing salt, and oil. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Surti locho batter is ready.
  • STEP 6.🔸Making green garlic flavour cheese garlic surti locho
  • STEP 7.Take ½ cup batter from fermented locha batter.
  • STEP 8. Then add ½ cup water and make the pouring consistency of the batter.
  • STEP 9.. Preheat steamer with a greased plate for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 10.. Just before steaming add 1/8 tsp baking soda (for ½ cup batter ) and some lemon juice in it. mix well.
  • STEP 11. In a mixture jar, add green garlic, dry garlic cloves, green chili, and coriander leaves. grind it into a coarse paste.
  • STEP 12.Now in melted butter add coarse grinded paste and mix well. Butter chili garlic paste is ready.
  • STEP 13.. Spread a thin layer of batter into preheated steamer plate.
  • STEP 14.. Cover and steam locho for 10 minutes Now spread Butter chili garlic paste & grated chess , steam locho for 2 -3 minutes on a high-medium flame.
  • STEP 15.. Meanwhile, in a grinding jar add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chili, ginger, jeera, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and 2 pieces of khaman dhokla and grind everything. Locho chutney is ready
  • STEP 16. Then, in a bowl add pepper powder, roasted jeera powder, salt, chat masala, red chili powder, and mix everything well.
  • STEP 17.. After 12-14 minutes, with the help of a toothpick check out locho is properly cooked or not. If the toothpick comes out clean then locho is properly steamed.
  • STEP 18.. Finally, Scoop a ladle of steamed locho on a plate. Garnish with locho masala, onion, coriander leaves, melted butter, and sev on the top..
  • STEP 19.🔸NOTES
  • STEP 20.A. addition of some methi seeds fastens the fermentation process.
  • STEP 21.poha gives fluffiness and softness to surti locho.
  • STEP 22.B. do not add more water while grinding the batter.
  • STEP 23.C. grind thick and smooth batter; there are no dal particles into the batter.
  • STEP 24.for locha, the batter and water ratio should be equal.
  • STEP 25.D. a spread thin layer of batter in steaming plate.
  • STEP 26.if the knife, comes out clean then locho is properly steamed.
