  • 1.38 Chillies, Finely Chopped
  • 0.13 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
  • 0.06 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Jaggery
  • 0.06 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 0.06 teaspoon Urad Dal

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Saute until the mustard seeds splutter.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped green chillies, tamarind paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 3.Add jaggery and continue cooking until the mixture thickens and the oil separates from the sides.
  • STEP 4.Allow the thokku to cool and store it in an airtight container. It can be refrigerated for up to a week.
  • STEP 5.Serve the Green Chilli Thokku as a side dish with rice, dosa, idli, or use it as a spread on sandwiches.
