Gopal kala also known as dahi kala is savory dish prepared on Janmastami festival. 'Gopal' is the name of the Krishna and 'Kala' means 'mixture' in Marathi. Gopal kala is prepared with flattened rice (poha) and curd as a key ingredients and can be prpepared quickly and easily. In Janmastmi celebration along with makhana pag, panjiri, gopal kala is also prepared and also filled in Handi for dahi handi celebration,later served and distributed as Prasad.
