Ingredients for Gil-e-Firdous Recipe

  • 1 Cup creamy milk
  • 0.13 Cup cashew nuts and almonds mixed
  • 1/4 Tbsp chironji
  • 1/4 Tbsp ghee
  • 1/4 Tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 Tbsp milkmaid or mawa
  • 1/4 Tbsp rose water
  • 0.13 Cup rose petals
  • 0.06 Cup Chopped pistachios and cashew nuts

Directions: Gil-e-firdous Recipe

  • STEP 1.1..Soak the poha, almonds and cashews in 1 cup of milk (soak the almonds and peel them first) after about 15 minutes
  • STEP 2.make a paste of it
  • STEP 3.2.. Now heat ghee in a deep and thick bottomed pan or kadai, put bottle gourd in it and fry it lightly on medium flame.
  • STEP 4.3..Now add milk to it and cook till the gourd becomes soft, keep the flame low and keep stirring it with a spoon.
  • STEP 5.4. Now add cardamom powder, chironji, some dry fruits and poha paste and boil it after 4-5 boils, mix milkmaid / mawa in it and keep stirring with a spoon.
  • STEP 6.5..Now put rose water and rose petals in it and turn off the flame, don't make it too thick, garnish with dry fruits and serve chilled.
  • STEP 7.Note - Milkmaid is sweet so you can add sugar if you want if you are using mawa then also add sugar as per taste
