  • 0.33 tablespoon Light brown sugar
  • 0.08 teaspoon Freshly ground nutmeg
  • 0.17 cup Flour
  • 0.33 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.33 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.06 cup Butter
  • 0.08 cup Milk
  • 0.08 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 0.17 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.17 Tbsp corn starch /corn flour
  • As required Salt (to taste )

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Preheat your oven to 190°C.
  • STEP 2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss everything together until the peaches are well coated. Transfer this mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized oven-safe dish.
  • STEP 3.Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the peaches start to release their juices and become tender.
  • STEP 4.While the peaches are baking, prepare the dumplings. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold butter pieces and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to incorporate the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • STEP 5.Gradually add the milk to the flour mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if the dough is slightly lumpy.
  • STEP 6.Remove the baked peaches from the oven. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter evenly over the hot peach filling.
  • STEP 7.Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and cooked through.
