Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, and lemon juice.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated fish until golden brown. Set aside.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 4.Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and spices like turmeric powder, red chili powder, and biryani masala. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 6.Add soaked basmati rice and mix well. Add water and salt. Cover and cook until the rice is cooked and fluffy.
  • STEP 7.Layer the cooked rice with the fried fish pieces, fried onions, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with raita or salad.
