Ingredients for Fish Recipe

  • 1/5 grams Mackerel
  • As required Oil
  • 1.50 nos Cardamom
  • 1.25 nos Clove
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon
  • As required few curry leaves
  • 3/4 nos Big onion finely chopped
  • 3/4 nos Big tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger crushed or finely chopped
  • 4.75 nos to pod garlic crushed or finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp bigRed chilly paste
  • 1/4 nos big Green chilly (optional)
  • 0.06 tsp turmeric powder
  • 0.13 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp vinegar (optionl)
  • 1/4 nos small pod of tamarind water
  • 1/2 cups Water
  • As required Salt as per taste

Directions: Fish Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash mackerel. slice the fish and keep it aside
  • STEP 2.Heat the oil in a deep pan put cardamom, clove and cinnamon.
  • STEP 3.Saute garlic, ginger, curry leaves one by one until raw smell goes off.
  • STEP 4.Fry onion till golden brown. Then add tomatoes.
  • STEP 5.Once tomatoes are soft . Add red chilli paste. In 2 mints throw in turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder. Keep stirring it until the paste changes in color. (5 to 7 minutes)
  • STEP 6.When its done you can see oil around wok and thats when its perfectly fried.
  • STEP 7.Now pour 2 cups of water to it, or as much thick gravy you want (as required). Then add green chilly, vinegar, tamarind water and allow it to boil till oil floats.
  • STEP 8.Add salt as per taste.
  • STEP 9.Once the gravy comes to boil, start dropping the fish pieces and allow to boil for 15 minutes.
  • STEP 10.Switch off the flame.
  • STEP 11.Garnish with curry leaves.
