  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix rice flour, salt, asafoetida, cumin seeds, and water to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Spread a thin layer of the batter on banana leaves and let them dry under the sun for a few hours.
  • STEP 3.Once the vadam is completely dry, carefully peel them off the banana leaves.
  • STEP 4.Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the vadams until they turn golden and crispy.
  • STEP 5.Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • STEP 6.Serve the elai vadams as a side dish with rice or enjoy them as a snack.
