Ingredients for Eggless Mawa Cake (मावा केक) with instant mawa Recipe

  • As required Instant Mawa
  • 0.13 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)
  • As required ½ cup milk
  • As required ¼ cup cream
  • 0.13 cup milk powder
  • As required Cake
  • As required ¾ cup Milk (lukewarm)
  • As required Saffron
  • As required a generous pinch
  • As required ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 0.13 cup Castor sugar
  • As required ½ cup Thick Curd
  • As required ½ cup Mawa (khoya)
  • As required ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 0.13 cup ¼All-Purpose flour (Maida)
  • 0.13 tsp ¼Baking Powder
  • As required ¼ tsp salt
  • 0.13 tbsp ½Pistachios (slivered)
  • 0.13 tbsp ½Almonds (slivered)

Directions: Eggless Mawa Cake (मावा केक) With Instant Mawa Recipe

  • STEP 1.Heat ghee in a pan (preferably non-stick)on low flame. Add milk, cream and mix it well.
  • STEP 2.Add milk powder and stir continuously on low flame until it thickens and separates the sides of the pan. Keep it aside and let it cool down completely.
  • STEP 3.Soak the saffron strands in lukewarm milk and keep it aside.
  • STEP 4.Preheat the oven to 180 C. Grease a cake pan, dust it with flour or line it with parchment paper.
  • STEP 5.Sieve all-purpose flour, baking powder, cardamom powder and salt 2-3 times and keep it aside.
  • STEP 6.In a bowl, add butter and sugar, whisk well until light and fluffy.
  • STEP 7.Add curd and whisk well.
  • STEP 8.Add mawa and cardamom powder and mix it well.
  • STEP 9.Mix dry mixture. Add in 2-3 batches & fold it into the batter with a spatula. Mix it well. Do not over mix.
  • STEP 10.Add saffron milk and whisk well.
  • STEP 11.Pour batter into the prepared pan, level it with a spatula and tap it 2-3 times to release air bubbles. Sprinkle slivered nuts on the cake batter.
  • STEP 12.Bake it for 50-55 minutes or till a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  • STEP 13.Let it cool down for 5-10 minutes. Loosen up the sides with the help of a knife, then transfer it to the wire rack. Let it cool down completely.
  • STEP 14.Mawa cake is ready to serve.
