  • As Required For Spice Paste
  • 1.33 Pieces Dried Red Chillies
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Coriander Seeds
  • 0.08 Teaspoon Methi Seeds
  • 0.17 Teaspoon Urad Dal
  • 0.08 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.17 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 0.33 Teaspoon Tamarind Paste
  • 0.17 Cups coconut chopped
  • As Required for Nurge Gashie
  • 5 Pieces pieces Drumstick
  • 0.33 Tablespoon Powdered Jaggery
  • 0.33 Pieces Onion
  • 0.17 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.33 Tablespoon Oil
  • 0.17 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 0.17 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 0.17 Teaspoon Urad Dal
  • To Taste Salt
  • As Required Curry Leaves
  • A Few Coriander Leaves
  • As Required Water

Directions: Drumstick Curry Recipe

  • STEP 1.Cook drumstick pieces in ~2 cups of water along with turmeric powder.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, dry roast all the ingredients (except coconut and tamarind paste) until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Once cooled down, grind into a smooth paste along with coconut and tamarind paste.
  • STEP 4.Once the drumstick pieces are almost cooked, add salt as needed.
  • STEP 5.Next add the prepared spice mixture along with jaggery. Mix well. Let the gravy come to boil on low flame.
  • STEP 6.Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal – as they splutter, add curry leaves.
  • STEP 7.Next add finely chopped onions and fry until translucent.
  • STEP 8.Add the tempering to the gravy along with finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • STEP 9.Serve hot with rice and ghee!
