Also known as besan ki chakki this is a traditional recipe made on various auspicious occasions and is made with coarsely ground gram flour. This divine meethai is also called besan ki chakki or Mohanthal. It is usually prepared in weddings, Pujas or on special occasions. Rajasthani sweet prepared with roasted gramflour and is loved by the people of India.

Ingredients for Dilkushar Ki Chakki Recipe

  • 0.15 cup Clarified Butter
  • 0.30 cup gram flour
  • As required Cream
  • 10 gram khoya/mawa
  • 1/10 cup Water
  • 0.15 cup Sugar
  • 1/100 teaspoon yellow food colouring
  • 1/20 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 0.03 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/20 cup chopped nuts

step 1

  • STEP 1.Take clarified butter in a pan and heat it.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Take gram flour,and cream in a bowl to make a soft dough.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Make small balls out of the dough and fry them in hot ghee until golden brown.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Take the fried balls out and break them into chunks.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Grind these chunks using a blender.

  • STEP 1.Pour the prepared powder into the same pan and let it soak the butter and cook well at medium flame.

  • STEP 1.Once cooked turn off the flame and add khoya/mawa in it.

  • STEP 1.Mix it well.keep this mixture aside.

  • STEP 1.To make sugar syrup take some water and sugar in a pan and cook it at medium flame until the sugar melts.

  • STEP 1.Add food colouring, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder to it and turn off the flame when bubbles start to appear on the surface.

  • STEP 1.Add roasted basan to the sugar syrup and mix well.

  • STEP 1.Grease a tray with some oil and pour the mixture evenly.

  • STEP 1.Garnish it with chopped nuts and let sit for 15 minutes.

  • STEP 1.After 15 minutes cut it into pieces and your dilkushar ki chakki is ready to serve.
