This is an old family recipe, passed down through four generations. Named after my grandmother who we grand kids called "Darnie", it has a secret ingredient that gives regular spag bol extra richness and a bold, hearty after-taste. The secret ingredient? A cup of black coffee This simple twist, combined with a dash of red wine, a handful of freshly chopped oregano and a couple of bay leaves, creates a delicious hearty pasta with a deep, dark flavour that leaves you wondering why it tastes so good.
