Ingredients for Dal moth namkeen Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Chana dal
  • 3/4 cup masoor dal
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cashew
  • 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 3/4 tsp Dry mango powder
  • As Required Oil for frying

Directions: Dal Moth Namkeen Recipe

  • STEP 1.Firstly, Wash 2-4 times and then soak chana dal and black masoor dal in different bowl and add 1/2 tsp baking soda mixed into each one of it. Soak well for 6 to 7 hours.
  • STEP 2.After 6 to 7 hours remove water from dal and wash thoroughly. Drain and spread dal on a kitchen towel or muslin cloth for 15-20 minutes. so that all the moisture is absorbed.
  • STEP 3.For dal fry:-Heat oil in a kadai or pan. Once the oil is hot enough.then Pour some dal into oil to fry and stir it. When the foam from the oil has settled and dal is floating above the oil. The chana dal is fried and ready.it will take 5-6 minutes to fry.
  • STEP 4.Sieve it out. for that take a deep sieve and a normal slotted ladle. Lift the dal with a slotted ladle and place it in a deep sieve so the oil will drain back to the kadai.It will take 5-6 minutes to fry
  • STEP 5.Place sieve on a bowl for a while so that the remaining oil also gets removed. fry all of the dal.
  • STEP 6.Also masoor dal fry same way. Pour it in the oil to fry. See if it floating above the oil and the bubbles have settled. Sieve it the same as the chana dal so that the extra oil drains out. Then take it out the same way.
  • STEP 7.For the sev:- take 1/4 cup of gram flour in a bowl. Add 1 tsp oil, 1/4 tsp salt and half pinch of the baking soda. mix all the ingredients properly and adding water to it and make dough.
  • STEP 8.Take the fine holes mould nd grease bhujia maker.stuff in ball sized dough into the press.press and spread the sev in hot oil forming a circle in the oil. fry until it turns golden brown.Then .drain over kitchen paper to absorb oil.take the fried sev into a bowl nd crush gently to small pieces.....
  • STEP 9.Fry peanuts on low flame until it turns crunchy nd brown...

  • STEP 12.Transfer the fried masoor dal, chana dal to the same bowl.add in 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp Dry mango powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds powder, 3/4 tsp black salt, 1/2 tsp black peper powder and salt.
  • STEP 13.mix gently, making sure all the spices are well combined.
