Directions: Dahi Pakodi Chaat Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.To make the pakoras, mix gram flour, spices, and chopped onions, green chilies, and coriander leaves in a bowl.
  • STEP 2.Add water gradually to make a thick batter. Heat oil in a deep pan and drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil.
  • STEP 3.Fry the pakoras until golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • STEP 4.In a separate bowl, whisk yogurt with a little water until smooth. Season with salt and sugar according to taste.
  • STEP 5.To assemble the chaat, place a few pakoras in a serving plate. Pour the whisked yogurt over the pakoras.
  • STEP 6.Drizzle tamarind chutney and green chutney over the yogurt. Sprinkle chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and red chili powder on top.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and coriander leaves. Finally, sprinkle some sev on top for added crunch.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Dahi Pakoda Chaat immediately and enjoy the burst of flavors and textures.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying the pakoras to ensure they turn out crispy.
  • You can add grated ginger and garlic to the pakora batter for extra flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of spices and chutneys according to your taste preferences.
  • You can also add some pomegranate seeds or chopped mango for a fruity twist to the chaat.
  • To make it healthier, you can use baked pakoras instead of deep-fried ones.

Storage and Serving

  • Dahi Pakoda Chaat is best served immediately after assembling to enjoy the crispy pakoras.
  • If you have leftover pakoras, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Before serving leftover chaat, you can reheat the pakoras in a preheated oven for a few minutes to regain their crispiness.
  • Garnish the chaat with fresh coriander leaves and sev just before serving to maintain their crunchiness.
