Pan fried prawns that are coated in breadcrumbs and fried till crispy.These crispy fried shrimps with Panko can be eaten as an appetizer or just part of a weekend menu for a sumptuous family dinner. Fried shrimp and rice also go well together. All you have to make is a simple curry like lentil curry (dal) with spinach. Or flavor the rice as in lemon rice recipe with brown rice.

Ingredients for Crispy Breaded Prawns Recipe

  • 1 pound Prawns whole
  • 1 Egg Nos
  • As required All purpose flour for coating
  • As required Panko bread crumbs for coating
  • 3 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Crispy Breaded Prawns Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Wash, peel and devein 1 lb prawns.

  • STEP 2.Pat the prawns dry with a kitchen towel. Keep aside.

step 3

  • STEP 3.1 fill all purpose flour in a plate. Keep ready.

step 4

  • STEP 4.2 whisk 1 egg in a bowl with a little water.keep ready

  • STEP 5.3 prepare a plate filled with panko bread crumbs. Keep ready.

  • STEP 6.4 first lightly coat both sides of each prawn by dipping in the flour and shaking off the excess.

  • STEP 7.5 next dip each prawn in the egg wash.

  • STEP 8.6 thirdly, coat each prawn in the panko bread crumbs on both sides.

  • STEP 9.7 preheat a pan on medium heat and add 3 tbsp oil.

step 10

  • STEP 10.8 add the prawns to the pan one at a time. Arrange them so that none of the prawns are overlapping on each other.

step 11

  • STEP 11.9 fry for 30 seconds on each side or till the prawns change colour to pink.

step 12

  • STEP 12.10 take the prawns out of the hot oil and place them on paper napkins to drain off the excess oil.

  • STEP 13.11 serve hot with a sweet and sour sauce or curried onions.
