Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat ghee and add cornflour. Roast the cornflour on low heat until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
  • STEP 2.In a separate saucepan, heat water and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • STEP 3.Slowly pour the sugar syrup into the roasted cornflour while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
  • STEP 4.Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • STEP 5.Add cardamom powder and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Remove from heat and transfer the halwa to a greased plate or tray. Spread it evenly and let it cool.
  • STEP 7.Once cooled, cut the halwa into desired shapes and garnish with chopped nuts.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Cornflour Halwa warm or chilled. It can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
