A delicious well seasoned seafood salad made with vermicelli noodles, shrimp and chard, flavoured with sesame and soy sauce.Winter in Sydney swings from being warm enough to run around in shorts and play with your dog at the beach, and cold enough to wear ugg boots and maybe, just maybe, turn on the heater.

Ingredients for Chinese Shrimp And Noodle Salad Recipe

  • 150 gram Cooked prawns
  • 150 gram Chard or celery
  • 50 gram Vermicelli noodles
  • 1 No.s Spring onion finely chopped
  • 3 No.s Garliccloves finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Sesame sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • As required Salt

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak 50 gm vermicelli noodles in warm water for 20 minutes till soft.

  • STEP 2.Use a sieve and drain the noodles. Keep asid

  • STEP 3.-1)fill a pan with water and bring to a boil.

step 4

  • STEP 4.-2)place 150 gm of chard in the boiling water and blanch for 3 to 4 minutes.

  • STEP 5.-3)use a sieve and remove the chard from the water and hold under running water for 2 minutes.

step 6

  • STEP 6.-4)cut the chard into 1 inch pieces and place in a mixing bowl.

step 7

  • STEP 7.-5)to this add 150 gm cooked prawns, 50 gm soaked and drained vermicelli noodles, 2 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp vinegar and 1 tbsp soy sauce.

step 8

  • STEP 8.-6)next add 2 tbsp sesame sauce, 3 cloves finely chopped garlic, 1 finely chopped spring onion, 1 tsp sugar and salt to taste.

  • STEP 9.-7)toss and mix all the ingredients together to ensure that flavours combine well.

  • STEP 10.-8)transfer to a dish and serve.
