A fresh and crunchy salad of cucumber chunks tossed in a sweet salty and tangy dressing flavoured with garlic. Chinese Cucumber Salad is a light and refreshing appetizer. The crisp cucumber is mixed with plenty of garlic, drizzled with an appetizing blend of soy sauce, vinegar and sugar, then finished with a few drops of sesame oil. The sauce is light, yet it has a distinct sour flavor with a hint of sweetness, enhanced by the strong aroma of garlic.

Ingredients for Chinese Garlic Cucumber Salad Recipe

  • 5 gram Cucumbercut into cm by 1 cm chunks 500
  • 4-6 Garlic finely chopped cloves
  • 1/2 flakes Chili tsp
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • As required Salt

Directions: Chinese Garlic Cucumber Salad Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Place 500 gm cucumber cut into 5 cm by 1 cm chunks. Add salt and mix well. Discard the liquid that cucumber releases. Keep aside for 5 minutes.

step 2

  • STEP 1.In a small bowl add 4 to 6 finely chopped cloves of garlic, ½ tsp chili flakes ( optional), 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tbsp white vinegar, 2 tbsp sesame oil and 2 tbsp sugar. Mix all the ingredients together well.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Pour this mixture over the cucumbers in the bowl and mix well to ensure that all the pieces of cucumber are coated with the sauce.
