  • 8 No.s Chicken Drumsticks
  • 3 Ginger cm sliced
  • 4 Spring onions cut in halves Nos
  • 5 Garlic cloves sliced Nos
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Red peppercorn
  • 1 Star anise
  • 4 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Chinese Five Spice Powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1 Water for boiling chicken ltr
  • 1 Oil for deep frying ltr

Directions: Chinese Crispy Chicken Dumplings Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1in a pot place 8 chicken drumsticks, 1 star anise ,3 cm sliced ginger ,3 cloves sliced garlic, 4 spring onions cut in halves, 1 tsp red peppercorns, 2 tbsp chinese five spice powder, 3 tbsp sugar, 4 tbsp dark soy sauce and salt to taste.

  • STEP 2.2to this add 1 ltr water and stir the ingredients together.

  • STEP 3.3bring the pot to a boil for 2 minutes.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4cover the pot with a lid, turn the heat to medium and continue to boil for 30 minutes until the chicken is tender.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5then remove and drain the chicken pieces .

step 6

  • STEP 6.6in a wok heat 1 ltr oil till hot, add the chicken drumsticks one at a time into the hot oil.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7fry for 3 to 5 minutes till golden.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8remove from the oil and drain off the excess oil.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9transfer to a plate and serve hot.
