Ingredients for Chinese Braised Lamb Ribs Recipe

  • 500 gram Lamb ribs
  • 200 gram Carrot
  • 2 No.s Spring onions
  • 10 gram Ginger
  • 4 No.s Dried red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorn
  • 2 No.s Bay leaves
  • 1 No.s Black cardamom
  • 1 No.s Star anise
  • 2 piece Cinnamon
  • 20 gram Dried orange peel
  • 2 tablespoon Chili bean sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chicken powder
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking wine
  • As required Salt

Directions: Chinese Braised Lamb Ribs Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add 10 gm thinly sliced ginger, 4 dried red chillies, 1 tsp sichuan peppercorns, 2 bay leaves, 1 black cardamom, 2 inch cinnamon, 1 star anise, 20 gm dried orange peel and stir fry for a few seconds.

  • STEP 2.2 add 2 tbsp chili bean sauce and stir fry for a few seconds.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 add 500 gm lamb ribs chopped into 1 inch pieces and stir fry for 2 minutes.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 add 2 tbsp cooking wine and stir fry for 1 minute.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 then add 500 ml water just upto the level of the meat and bring to a boil.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 then turn the heat to medium low, cover and cook for 30 minutes,

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 next add 200 gm carrot cut into bite size pieces, salt to taste, cover and continue to cook for 10 minutes.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 then add 1 tbsp chicken powder and stir.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 turn the heat to high and reduce the liquid. Remove the spices from the wok.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 lastly add 2 roughly chopped spring onions and stir.

step 11

  • STEP 11.11 transfer to a serving dish.
