Chow or chowmein is one of the most popular street foods of calcutta, or kolkata, reminiscent of its chinese-haka heritage. Try these really quick chili-garlic noodles, or chowmein that will be a great lunch-box or tiffin accompaniment. This one's my adaptation of the popular recipe!.

  • 1 gram Plain noodles small packets, 100 each
  • 1/2 garlic head, cloves separated, peeled, diced
  • 1.50 onions medium, diced
  • 1/2 cup Green beans diced
  • 1/2 cup Green capsicum diced
  • 1 carrots , diced fine
  • 1/2 cup Soya granules soaked and drained
  • 1.50 tablespoon Szechwan stir fry sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Light soya sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili vinegar
  • As required Salt
  • 1/2 pinch Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Crushed black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dark soya sauce for garnish
  • 1.50 tablespoon peanut or vegetable or sesame oil
