Chicken Shashlik or Shashlyk, is a dish of skewered and grilled cubes of chicken, similar to or synonyms with shish kebab. It is know traditionally by various other names in the Caucasus and central Asia, and from the 19th century became popular as Shashlik across Russian empire

Ingredients for Chicken Shashlik(Shish Kebab) # BSK Recipe

  • 0.33 Pieces Egg
  • 1/10 Pieces Red capsicum
  • 1/10 Pieces Yellow capsicum
  • 1/10 Pieces green capsicum
  • 0.33 Pieces Onion
  • 83.33 g boneless chicken cubes
  • 1 Tsp Maida(Flour)
  • 0.67 Tsp Cornflour
  • 0.33 Tsp Sugar
  • 0.33 Tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 g arlic Cloves Minced
  • 0.67 Tsp Tomato sauce
  • 1 Tsp Onion paste
  • 0.33 Tsp Garlic paste
  • 0.67 Tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 0.67 Tsp Vinegar
  • 1 Tsp Schezwan sauce
  • 0.67 Tsp Dark soy sauce
  • 0.33 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 2 Pieces Bamboo sticks
  • As Required Oil

Directions: Chicken Shashlik(shish Kebab) # Bsk Recipe

  • STEP 1.For marinating, in a large bowl take 1 egg, cornflour, all purpose flour, tomato sauce, salt, soya sauce, Schezwan sauce , vinegar, red chilli powder, pepper powder, onion, ginger garlic paste and mix everything
  • STEP 2.Add 250 gms boneless chicken cubes, capsicum, onion cubes mix and keep it aside for one hour
  • STEP 3.Keep the skewers in water for around 30 minutes. This will prevent the skewers from burning. Now weave the chicken cubes, capsicum, onion cubes onto skewers.
  • STEP 4.Meanwhile we have kept oil for frying.once the oil is heated , put the chicken for frying on low flame, when it is cooked from one side flip on the other side.
  • STEP 5.In a pan take 1 tbsp oil, put chopped garlic and saute until it turns golden in color
  • STEP 6.Pour soya sauce, Schezwan sauce, vinegar and red chilli powder, and saute it for a while on Low flame and the mixture of corn flour and water in it , corn flour helps to make the consistency thick
  • STEP 7.Saute the mixture on low flame and let it boil. Now place the chicken on the sauces. Keep the flame low and coat the chicken with sauces evenly on both the side.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with spring onions and serve hot and Chicken Shashlik as a starter
