The rice is flavored with tomato, chili and onion sauce. It is often accompanied by a salad. There is also a barbecue version in which the lamb or chicken skewers are marinated in spicy yogurt and then grilled. Chicken majboos is very close to biryani but also to al kabsa from Saudi Arabia.

Ingredients for Chicken Majboos Recipe

  • 2.50 cup Basmati Rice
  • 10 piece Chicken Leg, Thigh and Wings
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • As required Water for boiling the chicken
  • 1 cup water if the chicken stock is not enough to boil the rice
  • As required Spices and Herbs
  • 2 Black Lemon / Lime
  • 6 Bay Leaf
  • 6 Cloves
  • 5-6 Cardamom pods
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon curry
  • 3/4 teaspoon Coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
  • As required Salt and Black Pepper for Taste

Directions: Chicken Majboos Recipe

  • STEP 1.Turn on the flame, place the chicken within the change of state pot and add water. Let the chicken boil, whereas the chicken is boiling, take away the surplus fats from the chicken.
