Ingredients for Cherupayar Thoran Recipe

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 cup Moong dal
  • 3/4 cup Grated coconut
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 2 No.s Dry red chilly
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut oil

Directions: Cherupayar Thoran Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Cook 1 cup moong dal in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water and a pinch of salt till 4 whistles.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Grind ¾ cup of grated coconut, ¼ tsp of cumin seeds, 3 garlic cloves, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and ¼ tsp of chilli powder.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil in a pan. Add 2 red chillies and transfer the ground mix. Saute well the ingredients.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Transfer the cooked green gram and mix well. Garnish with curry leaves.
