Cherry-Basil Fizz Recipe

Recipe By Southern Living

This refreshing fizzy drink is made with kombucha, a bubbly fermented tea packed with b vitamins and probiotics. Most kombucha, which is sold by the bottle in health food stores and many grocery stores, comes in different flavors, but youll want to pick a plain or original flavor for this recipe. (we like gts classic organic raw kombucha original flavor. ) although kombucha is usually enjoyed on its own, it also makes a surprisingly delicious hard or soft drink mixer. In this recipe, we combine it with a bright, tangy cherry-basil syrup and ice to make a super simple and super flavorful drink. We used fresh cherries in this recipe, but if you want to make this drink when they are not in season (and wildly expensive) you can use frozen cherries, or substitute another type of fruit such as plums, peaches, or blueberries. If youre not a fan of basil, use thyme or mint, or combine two herbs for a more complex flavor. You can enjoy this drink served over ice as a mocktail, or stir 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) vodka into each serving. Take this drink outside during the summer tool help keep things cool.
