Ingredients for Chena Mezhukupuratti Recipe

  • 1 cup Chopped elephant yam
  • 3 tablespoon Crushed red chilly
  • 2 sprig Curry leaves
  • 50 gram Chopped shallots
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper powder
  • 5-8 No.s Shallots
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Directions: Chena Mezhukupuratti Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Into a cooking pan transfer chopped 1 cup of elephant yam, 2 cups of water, 50gm chopped shallots, 3 tbsp crushed dry red chilly, 2 sprig of curry leaves, 1 tsp turmeric powder and a tsp of salt.

  • STEP 1.Cook covered for 5 minutes on high flame and next 5 minutes on low flame.

  • STEP 1.In a pan add 2 tbsp coconut oil. When the oil gets hot, add in ½ tsp of mustard seeds and wait for it to splutter.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Crush the garlic and pepper together, transfer this into a pan and saute well. Add a sprig of curry leaf and mix well.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Then transfer the cooked elephant yam and cook in low flame for 10 minutes. Stir in between.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Turn off the flame after 10 minutes and the recipe is ready.
