  • 1.50 cup Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds

  • 1/2 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 inch Ginger, Grated
  • 1.75 Lic Cloves, Minced
  • 1 Green Chilies, Slit
  • 1 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • as per your need Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Directions: Channa Moong Dal Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Rinse the channa dal and moong dal under running water until the water runs clear.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, add the rinsed dals, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 4-5 whistles or until the dals are soft and cooked through.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat ghee or oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions, ginger, garlic, and green chilies to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  • STEP 6.Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed.
  • STEP 7.Season with salt, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
