  • 0.67 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 0.67 tablespoon Oil
  • 0.33 teaspoon Mustard Seeds

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak the chana dal in water for 2-3 hours, then drain the water.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the soaked chana dal with enough water and salt for 2-3 whistles, or until it becomes tender.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add curry leaves, chopped green chilies, and asafoetida.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked chana dal to the pan and mix well with the tempering.
  • STEP 5.Add grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves. Mix everything together and cook for a few more minutes.
  • STEP 6.Chana Dal Sundal is ready to be served. Enjoy it as a snack or as a side dish with rice or roti.
