Chakli/Chakri/Murukku Recipe

Chakli is spiral shaped, deep fried snack. Steamed maida recipe makes the fried snack little dense. So to make it less dense or light texture, i have steamed the maida in pressure cooker before making chakli. By this steaming technique, chakli will be crispy light yet met in your mouth texture. Every region has its own way of making chakli. In gujrat and maharastra, chakli is made from all purpose flour or whole wheat flour. In gujrat, it also called chakri. In southern part of india, it is known as murukku and it is made from urad dal flour and/or rice flour. This is my mom' s recipe, and i made it exactly same way she makes it. She usually makes this during diwali festival along with other snacks. I have added til to it which give nice nutty flavour to it.
