  • 0.67 tablespoon Black Sesame Seeds
  • 0.17 cup Jaggery, Grated
  • 0.67 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 cup Water
  • pinch Pinch Of Cardamom Powder
  • as required Roasted Sesame Seeds For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, dry roast the black sesame seeds until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Grind the roasted sesame seeds into a fine powder.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add the soaked rice. Cook until the rice turns translucent.
  • STEP 5.Add water and cook the rice until it is soft and fully cooked.
  • STEP 6.Add the ground sesame powder and jaggery to the cooked rice. Mix well.
  • STEP 7.Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens and reaches a pudding-like consistency.
  • STEP 8.Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • STEP 9.Serve the Chaal Kophi warm or chilled, garnished with some roasted sesame seeds.
