  • 1/2 Package Phyllo Dough, Thawed
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, Melted
  • 1 cup Ground Cashews
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cardamom
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon Rose Water

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • STEP 2.In a bowl, mix together ground cashews, sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom.
  • STEP 3.Place a sheet of phyllo dough in the baking dish and brush it with melted butter.
  • STEP 4.Repeat the process, layering phyllo dough and butter, until you have used half of the dough.
  • STEP 5.Spread the cashew filling evenly over the layered phyllo dough.
  • STEP 6.Continue layering the remaining phyllo dough and butter on top of the filling.
  • STEP 7.Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.
  • STEP 8.Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • STEP 9.While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup by combining honey, lemon juice, and rose water in a saucepan.
  • STEP 10.Simmer the syrup over low heat for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  • STEP 11.Once the baklava is baked, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over it.
  • STEP 12.Allow the baklava to cool completely before serving.

Cooking Tips

  • To prevent the phyllo dough from drying out, cover it with a damp kitchen towel while working with it.
