Butter Tawa Pulao is very common street food from Mumbai which is made on a large Tawa, a griddle. To make this, rice is cooked first and seasoned with PavBhaji Masala Powder and Vegetables. It is an easy and simple to make and tastes delicious. You can make this pulao for lunch box or for your meal on a busy day without much efforts. Tawa Pulao is usually made on large Tawa and high flame which actually lends a unique flavour.

Ingredients for Butter Tawa Pulao Recipe

  • As Required For Pulao Rice
  • 1/4 cup Basmati rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 1 Pieces Cloves
  • 1 Pieces black pepper corn
  • 1/4 g Big black cardamom
  • 0.06 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • As Required For Pulao Sabji
  • 0.38 cup water
  • 1/4 g medium size long chopped carrot
  • 1/4 pieces medium size square potato
  • 0.13 cup Chopped cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup Boiled green peas
  • As Required For Pulao Assemble
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 Pieces Medium size chopped onion
  • 1/4 g medium size chopped green capsicum
  • 0.38 tsp Ginger + garlic paste
  • 3/4 Pieces Medium size chopped tomato
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp Butter
  • 1/4 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  • 0.38 tsp pavbhaji masala powder
  • 0.13 Pieces Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp Chopped green coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp Chopped green coriander leaves
  • As Required For Ganishing For garnishing
  • As Required Green Coriander leaves
  • As Required Butter

Directions: Butter Tawa Pulao Recipe

  • STEP 1.First wash the basmati rice with 2 to 3 times of clean water and soak it in clean water for 15 minutes. Cut as shown in the vegetable ingredients.
  • STEP 2.Now add water to a pan, heat it, add carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, mix and boil on medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain all the boiled water in the vegetables.
  • STEP 3.We will cook rice for pulav. To do this, heat water in a pan, add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper seeds and large black cardamom and mix the steeped rice in boiling water. Now add turmeric powder, salt, mix and cook 90% on medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes. Now drain the rice in a sieve. Remove to a plate and let cool.
  • STEP 4.Now let's assemble the pulav. For this, heat oil in a pan or frying pan, add cumin seeds, then add chopped ginger + garlic and chopped onion and chopped capsicum and cook on medium heat.
  • STEP 5.Now add chopped tomatoes, mix, add salt and cook till the tomatoes become soft. Now make a pit in between, add 2 tsp butter and melt it. Now add Kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala and paavbhaji masala in this butter, mix and saute.
  • STEP 6.Now add boiled green peas and boiled vegetables, mix and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Now add cooked rice and mix. Then add butter and mix well
  • STEP 7.Now turn off the gas flame, add lemon juice and green coriander leaves and mix it.
  • STEP 8.Now our yummy and delicious Butter Tawa Pulav is ready for serving. Garnish this pulav with green coriander leaves and butter and serve with salad and masala curd.
