A delicious and mouth watering preparation of bok choy and mushroom stir fried in a flavourful sauce. This is a delicious dish. It is an authentic Chinese recipe that I use for my cooking. Baby bok choy and mushroom are the two main ingredients.

Ingredients for Bok Choy And Mushroom In Oyster Sauce Recipe

  • 2 No.s Bok choycut lengthwise into quarters
  • 100 gram Mushroom
  • 3 Garlic finely chopped cloves
  • 1/2 piece Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 No.s Spring onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 30 milliliter Water
  • 30 milliliter Chicken or vegetable stock
  • As required Salt
  • 3 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Bok Choy And Mushroom In Oyster Sauce Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a saucepan of boiling water add 2 heads of bok choy cut lengthwise into quarters. Boil for 1 minute to blanch them.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 remove and drain the bok choy.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 in a pan heat 2 tbsp oil and add 100 gm of button mushroom head only.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 stir fry for 2 minutes, then remove from the pan.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 in the same pan add another 1 tbsp of oil and add ½ cm ginger finely chopped, 3 finely chopped cloves of garlic and 1 finely chopped spring onion.

  • STEP 6.6 fry for a few seconds till fragrant.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 add 2 tbsp oyster sauce and stir fry for 10 seconds.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 then add the blanched bok choy and the sir fried mushrooms, 1 tbsp light soy sauce and stir to mix all the ingredients together.

  • STEP 9.9 add 30 ml chicken or vegetable stock and salt to taste.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 stir fry for 1 minute.

step 11

  • STEP 11.11 in a small bowl add 1 tbsp cornflour and 30 ml water and mix to make a smooth mixture.

step 12

  • STEP 12.12 add this cornflour mixture to the pan and stir fry for 1 minute till the sauce in the pan thickens. Turn off the heat.

step 13

  • STEP 13.13 serve hot with white rice.
