Blintzes are a dish used in jewish cuisine; we can describe them as similar to french crpes or russian blinis, only fried. They are served on special holidays such as chanukah, sabbath and shavuot. Blintzes can be prepared in both sweet and savory varieties. The most popular combinations are those stuffed with mushrooms or with lots of cheese and covered with fresh strawberry jam. As a little girl, my mom used to take me for dinner to a restaurant located in the area of polanco in mexico city. We loved eating at this one coffee shop that served jewish food. This is where i first tried the delicious blintzes and, since then, they are one of my favorite dishes.
