  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder

  • STEP 1.Wash the black masoor dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and garlic.
  • STEP 3.Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add the soaked dal, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  • STEP 5.Pour enough water to cover the dal and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
